The Vulkan driver has been updated to support Vulkan 1.3.272 and later, the PostScript driver has been reimplemented to work from Windows-format spool files and avoid any direct calls from the Unix side, and there’s now a dark theme option on WinRT theming that can be enabled in WineCfg. Since this is an initial implementation, the Wayland driver is not enabled by default in Wine 9.0, which means that if you want to use you’ll have to enable it via the HKCU\Software\Wine\Drivers registry key by running the wine reg.exe add HKCU\\Software\\Wine\\Drivers /v Graphics /d x11,wayland command and then unset the DISPLAY environment variable. Highlights of Wine 9.0 include an experimental Wayland graphics driver with features like basic window management, support for multiple monitors, high-DPI scaling, relative motion events, as well as Vulkan support. Locking this as there are enough open discussions about themes already, which is why this was closed long ago in the first place.Wine 9.0 has been released today as the latest version of this free and open-source compatibility layer that lets you run apps and games developed for Windows systems on Unix-like operating systems. There is currently a list in the wiki documenting known unofficial themes. ![]() For example, the theme linked in this comment () is made by the very same person who implemented the unofficial themeing functionality in qBittorrent.įinally, a rest to my eyesight! So, is this an official theme? Are there any others to check out? Just to call this case closed.Īs mentioned, these themes are unofficial. I should note that some themes are not only free software, they are actually made by qBittorrent contributors, which should ease concerns about trustworthiness. If, on the other hand, you choose to trust a binary from some random forum on similar, that's your responsibility, and any damage resulting from that is on you. ![]() The "safety" paradigm is exactly the same - at the end of the day, anyone can inspect the source and build themselves. Īs for the "potentially unsafe part", they are as safe as any other free software project, so this is a moot point. Furthermore, this page documents how they are made, and how to make one yourself. Unofficial theme support actually a _feature_ that was recently implemented precisely to address the demand for themeing on platforms that don't natively support system wide (dark) themes, like Windows, while "official dark theme" is not implemented. Perhaps unintentionally, this comment reads like FUD. Given that unofficial, possibly unsafe, installers are popping up to satisfy the demand for dark themes, this should become a priority for the official qBittorent team. ![]() You are welcome to do it yourselves, all qBittorrent users would be thankful. ![]() No reason? Yes there is, and it is very simple: no one is making that contribution. It's 2020 there is absolutely no reason for qBittorrent to not have a native dark theme. Specifically DARK themes, and specifically Monokai!
